When your guests pick up the phone at your event, they'll hear a short greeting prompt before the tone. You can stick with our default greeting or record a custom one to make it personal.

Every phone comes loaded with our standard prompt:

"Please leave a message after the tone."

This greeting plays every time someone picks up the handset. It's simple, clear, and works great for any event. The greeting does not include your name or any personal information unless you opt for a custom greeting.

Want to make it personal? You can record your own custom greeting that plays instead of the default. This is a fun way to add your personality to the experience. For example:

"Hey! It's Sarah and Mike. Leave us a voicemail and tell us something we'll want to hear 20 years from now!"

Custom Greetings are available as an add-on with your Phone Guestbook. If you're interested, before adding your Phone Guestbook to cart, scroll to the "Voicemail Greeting On Phone" box and select "Custom Message (Submitted By You)".

Custom Greetings are to be recorded and submitted to us before your event. Simply record it on your phone (Voice Memo app or similar) and upload it using the instructions in the separate email. The recording length is up to you, but we recommend about 10–15 seconds—long enough to welcome and prompt your guests, without losing their attention.

The greeting restarts every time the phone is picked up, so each guest hears it fresh. Your guests don't need any instructions beyond picking up the handset; the greeting tells them exactly what to do.
